HGG - project part

HGG is the leader of WP3, Hydro-geological characterization of aquifers at Nobariya using geophysical methods. In the project, Aarhus University carried out field studies in study areas in Tunesia and Egypt. Both study sites were characterized by limited existing knowledge on the geology setting and huge problems with salinization of the groundwater. The HGG group carried out mappings with Groundbased TEM and MRS methods by which detailed 3D hydrogeological models could be set up. The model was used to simulate different groundwater scenarios and optimize the management of the local aquifers.
